TV Anime COD View Guide for Feb 2010 25 Feb 10

Let's get this outta the way first.

CN's Adult Swim on Channels 125 and 32 is revamping their Saturday schedule commencing 14 Feb 2010. As of 14 Feb 2010 the new schedule will be a bit different
(all times Eastern):

Adult Swim has confirmed that a new, now named anime series will premiere on the block Saturday Feb. 13th (early Sun. the 14th really) at 12 midnight.

Bleach will be expanded from 1 to 2 hours. FLCL returns at 2:30am.

Also, Fullmetal Alchemist is cut to 1 episode and pushed back to 4 am and GitS and Cowboy Bebop will be cut back to 1 episode. All times ET.

As to the rest of our week meaning Mondays:

MONDAY: AniMondays from 11 PM to 1 AM will run two eps of Monster followed by Blood:The Last Vampire anime film this week.

Desc/Darkness ended last week. These will air on SYFY (Channel 47)

Two eps of Witchblade will air back to back from 11 PM to Midnight Mondays on IFC (Channel 164)

IFC (Ch 164) no longer airs other anime.

Basilisk concluded its run a week ago or so. It was replaced by Monty Python's Flying Circus at 11:30 PM on Tuesdays.

First I'll list the OnDemand anime and some cartoon listings for this part of February and then I'll list the other items of interest regarding anime series, films, books, reviews, NFL, cooking tips, golf tips, videos, audios, etc.

You are liable to find just about anything at all here each post depending on the whims of my EONS(aah) and/or YG(AH1) groups or my bloggees, readers, posters or whoever.

Most eps and films are free but some are pay per view and are so marked. PPV anime series eps are usually first ep free then 99 cents each additional ep, films are usually $2.99 or $4.99 but some may be a bit higher.

Oh yeah and I list some kids films that are a bit animeic but not all of them and as a favour to a dear tomodachi of mine include one cartoon series eps every single edition.

SYFY's AniMonday (11 PM to 1 AM ET) is a double eppy of Monster (Doctor running from the law for a crime he did not do- sound familiar?) followed by a different anime movie. This week's offering is Blood:The Last Vampire.

Good news from SYFY folks! AniMonday has been expanded from 9 PM ET to 1 AM ET with the first two hours called Chiller. Chiller will feature unusual and scary anime film masterpieces beginning with Blood:The Last Vampire which spawned the Blood+ saga and a brand new live action film now running in theatres. Looks like 24 August will be Chiller's debut.

If you get SYFY in the SE PA-USA area you are still getting Star Trek-TNG reruns from 9 to 11 ET on Mondays dammit!

Hey WitchBlade the film (with Sarah Pezzini not Masane Amaha- yech!) will hit theatres in a year or so while DragonBall and Death Note are already out there showing.

Many more anime based flicks are coming soon and they are filming Bebop with Keanu Reeves in Dave's role as Spike Steigel.

For Jett I'd pick LF- Larry Fishburne or even MF- Morgan Freeman. Denzel Washington or Samuel L Jackson don't fit the mold.

How about Miley Cyrus aka Hannah Montana as `Ed' and Lindsay Lohan as Faye Valentine? (Rafe) Donnelly could be Tommie Lee Jones. Hey I oughta be a Hollywood cast finder eh?

Gad, I wonder how much of a muckup they'll make of the `Bebop', `Swordfish II', `Redtail' and `Hammerhead'? I don't think Ed's power scooter had a name although we all know the computer she wore on her head with `goggle monitors' was named `Tomato'!

In both Code Geas and in FMA some of the characters have a special logo in their eye a la Code Lyoko's XANA logo in the evil characters' eyes.

In both Death Note and Bleach there are specific hints as to character origins. In DN Ryuuk tells Light Yagami that any user of the DN book can neither go to Heaven nor Hell after death. So what's left? Shinigami World meaning that DN book users after death become Shinigami death gods- right?

Guess what live TV series is a DN parallel series? Hint- it's on Showtime.

In Bleach Rukia's Squad 13 captain (the one that is always sick as a rule) tells a subordinate that Ichigo's friends are special with unusually high spiritual pressures. He goes on to say that he would not be at all surprised if after death they became soul reapers themselves after they had passed on to the Soul Society.

Renji Abari committed a minor faux pas in this week's eppy. While fighting one of the Arrancar Hollows he told him that by the time Kiske arrived the Arrancar himself would be dead. He apparently forgot that all Hollows are already dead to begin with.

For that matter are soul reapers really alive or dead?

Now the gang's playing soccer & Kendo with the KKTown kids! Wonder how Yamamoto likes that? They are supposed to be training for the winter war with the Arrancar & Aizen!

Ichigo, Urryuu and Chad have just met three Arrancars and their pet in the Wako Mundo desert on their way to Las Noches (The Nights) which is Aizen's HQ fortress.

Seems not all Arrancars and Hollows are bad because these guys gave `em a lift and are guiding them to LN. Live and learn guys.

Why are they in WM? Aizen has Orihime of course! (see new post for more)(This is where they will pick up the tale in May supposedly gang)

Bleach pulled a bummer on us and has dropped back 30 eppys to the first time the Vizoreds came to Kara Kura Town so no new stuff for awhile I'm afraid.

New club Bleach4Ever just started up on FaceBook too.

Another new Bleach group on FB besides the B4E group just started too.

Anyway Icchi's being taught how to control his Hollow within by the Vizoreds and Orihime's shikigami Tsubaki was just recreated by one of the Vizoreds.

Now she can fight in the upcoming battles with at least one attack weapon.

Toshie and Rangiku are fighting again as are Ikkiku and his compadre.

Toshie had a vidscreen visit from Momo who wants him to save poor Cpt Aizen! Of course he can't promise that since Head Cpt Yamamoto has ordered his death.

Things are coming to a head and it looks like Aizen needs Orihime for something.

Yamamoto has explained about the Hojio Key that opens the hidden dimension where the royals of the Soul Society live. He wants to take over and plans on killing the royals to do it.

He swiped the Hojioque but needs a catalyst to open it as well as the souls and place of 100K humans!

In other words all of Kara Kura Town and everyone in it!

Renji Abari is sparring with Chad hoping to increase the big guy's power.

Kiske is acting like a jackass as usual and Yoruichi is being mysterious again.

All jigoku (Hell) seems about to break loose so stay tuned folks!

Discovered why Moribito theme music is so familiar. Group is Arc `n ciel who did the GTO theme Driver's Edge.

Early OT and ET for Death Note are done by Nightmare group which is what the Black Knights and Brittanians' Gundamlike fighting suits are called.

Is this the end of Morabito? Sure seemed like it after Saturday's eppy! (Gone but not forgotten now)

In FMA Ed has learned truth behind the Ishbaal massacre of fifteen years ago while brother Al has just discovered the identity of the Homunculi leader from the snake chimera Marta seconds before she was murdered by the #7 Homunculus- the Fuehrer King Bradley himself. He is Pride- the seventh deadly sin! But- who is his boss?

Rose of Lior has become pals with Lira the girl alchemist who used to be with Yochi the state alchemist army lieutenant and she's now called the Holy Mother but she has gone mute and who's her baby's father?

The climax seems to be fast approaching and it promises to be exciting so don't miss it gang!

Hohenheim the Elrics dad is back and going after Dante. Al has become a deadly time bomb courtesy of an unknowing Scar and an evil Kimlee the Crimson Alchemist who used the red stones in Ed's SAA watch to transmute the souls in Scar's arm into a philosopher's stone! (This FMA has ended at least for now and has been replaced by FMA:Brotherhood- see below for details)

The new Ed & Al FMA called Brotherhood premieres this weekend (see details above) and seems to be a retelling of the same story only from a different perspective and with a totally different ending.

For example this one takes place mostly in our world- the land beyond the Gate of Alchemy between the two world wars.

Another Bleach note- why did Aizen want Orihime kidnapped?

What or who is the sojioque he has stolen which will awaken in the winter? Who is the lad newly born from its power?

What does Kiske know which he ain't telling?

Can Ichigo defeat his Espada nemesis?

Don't ya just love that jutsu used by Captain Toshiro Hitagawa- reign over the frosted heavens! then the name of his zambatou?

A version of it is used by the evil Dragon Emporer in Mummy 3 when Jet Li turns a field of snow into jagged ice stalagmites. Of course he has mastery over the five Chinese elements- fire, water, earth, wood and metal! If there are only five elements in Chinese philosophy then how can there be an avatar or guardian of the air- Avatar the Last Airbender?

Air is not one of those elements!

And who's the looney tunes Espada poor Rangiku is stuck with?

Avatar in theatres is NOT Avatar the Last Airbender. Instead Avatar is like a BGR or a Gundam! Now it will be Avatar vs Avatar with the new The Last Airbender (coming to theatres in July) which is the live film version of Avatar the anime series featuring Aang and his companions from the 4 lands in the far distant future.

Avatar the other one just fell to another Johnny come lately film!

Dan Brown's Lost Symbol was just excellent! I loved it. A lot of Freemason stuff in it I didn't know. If any of you are Literary Guild members by all means check out the secret societies books they have at reasonable prices.

I have just added three plums to my anime vids collection: Complete DVD sets of Noir, Gasaraki and Tactics. I already have the complete set of Black Lagoon on DVD and partials on Blood+, Cyborg 009, FMA, Bleach and a few others.

I have the first 7 eppys of Morabito and am on the lookout for the set. Bobby has the complete set of Trigun and Mama has the complete set of Gunslinger Girl and Witchblade. Anyone else have any new acquisitions to talk about?

Bobby has Monster and I have My Santa and I just got Santa Claus Conquers the Martians on DVD. Now have Bebop movie on DVD and VHS. Just got GS Innocence 2 and Haunting in Connecticutt. Thundercats came at last for Mama.

SYFY is airing Destination Truth which is like JBs old Digging for the Truth on HC. DT is hosted by Josh Bates or Gates and looks pretty good.

Anyone know why SYFY considers wrestling science fiction stuff?

What do you guys think about my starting an anime recipes file and a golf tips corner either here or at AH1 or somewhere else?

Animeinfor.org is the only place I have ever seen an anime recipes section.

As for golf tips- what can I say? I love golf- passionately even if I don't play as much as I used to. Gomen but I just remembered this.

Kudos to Robert the artist for hire for finding Dan Doh- probably the only anime series about golf itself! Sadly there are no dubs of it just subs. It can be found at VEOH and hulu quite easily. I'll post a pix or two soon.

Another great show was In Search Of narrated by Leonard `Mr Spock' Nimoy and I recall an eppy of theirs re the Knights Templar and Foucault's Pendulum. If anyone knows where I can find a copy of those gems on VHS or DVD onegai let me know. A big domo arigatou in advance for your assistance.

I have now posted up to and including Ch 68 of Wings. I am trying to get Xmas and Wings rewritten and published. Think they will sell?

A note to budding authors- Avoid `author mills' like AuthorAmerica and AuthorHouse. All they want is for you to pay them to publish YOUR works! They guarantee nothing!

Likewise avoid AbsoluteWriters Water Cooler for info and inspiration. They are quite negative and attempt to discourage a struggling author!

Kudos the Divine Wind which is the Saints- They have finally conquered all and won SB XLIV 31 to 17 over the hapless Indy Colts!

MY PET PEEVES: A pet peeve here folks.

Why is it that in most anime the characters either walk (InuYasha) or run (Bleach) everywhere they go? Didn't the Japanese ever hear of transports?

I'd love to see how Kagome could get an SUV through the well!

Cars in the Soul Society's Seretai? They've got wide enough roads there surely?

And Ninjas and Samurai never seem to have carts, chariots or wagons although Samurai rode horses which was why they made the Zanzabatous like the one used by Zanza on Kenshin.

Balsa did ride a stallion for awhile on Morabito and on Code Geas Lelouch's `brother' Rollo does have a motorbike w/ sidecar.

Trains are the transport on FMA although Mustang and Hawkeye did have a car in last week's eppy.

DN and Blood+ have cars, boats, trains, planes and the like. So does GS and Bebop.

Naruto has modern stuff but no transports.

Guess it's to each his own meaning whatever the creators decide.

Latest read was Danny Brown's excellent fifth work The Lost Symbol (soon to be a flick?) which was quite good if a bit wordy. Damned thing took me 3 days to read!

With 2012 coming next month to home video it was quite apropos. Hints: A famous statue stands in front of the CIA HQ building in Langley and is a pivotal part of the storyline. There are a lot of hidden details in Washington DC and Dan Brown's a history buff as well as a secret society expert. He more than proved that in Angels & Demons and then again in the DaVinci Code.

By the way he's got a very entertaining website at www.danbrown.com so if you like tricky logic puzzles and codes by all means visit him there.

Oro else have I read recently? Sax Rohmer's Shadow of FuManchu.

He is the old-fashioned Darth Vader and the leader of a group out to save the Earth from its inhabitants. They are called The Seven. His nemesis is a Scotland Yarder named Sir Denis Nayland-Smith who with his trusty sidekick Dr Petrie pursues Dr FuManchu the same way Holmes and Watson pursued Prof Moriarty all those years.

His latest escapade involves collecting scientists and killing anyone in his way. Looks like the Brits, Yanks, Russians and Aussies will have to band together to defeat Fu and Huan Tsung his sidekick.

Some pair- Fu was at least 90 when Smith met him 60 years ago (Fu has the secret of eternal life. Has he discovered the FMA Stone?) and his pal's in his 80's!

Geriatric? Far from it! Smith's on his own this time unless you count his scientific buddy Carter who is about as useful as Zorro against Darth Vader! What a wimp!

I just began reading Ellery Queen's `The Finishing Stroke' mystery classic. A bit like Lost Symbol- it has a cypher EQ must solve to find the killer and it takes him over 20 years to bring the miscreant to justice! A must read for EQ fans like me!

Here's oro the Keiman wants for Kurisumasu (Christmas) and I doubt if such a thing even exists. A wall clock (battery powered) that plays anime themes every hour on the hour. Now oro themes would it have? Nonstop Angel (DP Flash); Billy in Despair (Death Note); Life is a Boat (Bleach); Real Folk Blues (Bebop); Freckles (Rurouni Kenshin); Guardian of the Spirit (Morabito).

That's half and for the rest how about Sailor Moon, InuYasha, RaveMaster, Gurren Lagann, NOIR's haunting watch melody and another Angels theme? Comments?

Oro anime music would you suggest for an anime wall clock? I'm interested to see if they are in my music collections. I did find some stand up clocks with all kinds of anime characters and most are about $20 USD.

Probably Han Solo nai I'll make him Yuri's #1 and Kei will use Mr (Joey) Bishop who will transfer from `Starfleet' to the 3WA when Ellen Rodgers (remember her from John Berringer's `Starcrusher' crew?) joins `Starfleet' and is promoted to Lt Commander status by Admiral Janeway herself!

Reg Barclay is still Kiva Nerese's exec of course.

How does the 3WA and the UG get roped into a treasure hunt and can I keep the Rune Soldier treasure hunters out of this one?

These require more thinking on my part but I believe descendants of both Lord Caervarvon and Howard Carter stumble onto a starmap in a hidden Templar temple- in Iceland!

Could the Templars have created star craft that exceed our own devices today?

Hell yeah- why not? Banking, credit, cheques, letters of credit, credit cards, computers- they invented all that stuff, didn't they?

That teacher up there is Kumiko 'YamKumi' Ooedo the 'ojou' or princess of the Ooedo Yakuzza Clan of ancient Terran Japan and those are her students from Shirokin HS. Only Fuji her inu (doggie) pug-nosed bulldog in his matching red/white tracksuit is with the Gokusen or 'gangster teacher' aboard the 'LA2'- no students came with her.

Wow!Mar's been injured and now that worst of all combat weapons is almost in Zorin's cronies' hands- Gundams! Almost as terrifying as the 'God Guns' or the Angels' new toy- the r-- whoops! I almost let the neko outta the sack folks! This chapter will put two close tomos at loggerheads with each other and nai it ain't Vacuumhead and Firebrand either! Some old tomos returned and the Boss decides to head for Onsokamaru! Who's in sick bay and how did she end up there? Why is Yuri Donovan furious? Who are the newbies? Did the truckers succeed?

DISCLAIMER: OK Coop darlin’, it’s all yours. First I wanna thank Mr T for the use of his Angels and stuff. Then I wanna thank everyone else who has been allowing us to use their creations here like Thom Beers for the use of his ice road truckers Hugh, Drew, Rick, Eric, Alex and Bear. I took the liberty of naming the 3WA academy in Furool City on Shimougou after Mr Haruka Takachiho in honour of his creations- the Angels. How was that, Yuri? Great, kiddo. Oh hai it sure was, Kei! Now since we left ya up in the air last time let’s get to Ch 65 without any further meandering, shall we? Why is Zack Zero back and oro does he want with Suba Marina Oki? Can Mandy keep her big mouth shut? A hint re the titles- Aw do ya expect me to spoil it for ya? Oro does this all mean? We’ll find out momentarily gang. The Boss Red Marshall’s on the warpath again! Here ’tis:-

CHAPTER 66

'Yeoman Trading' or 'Homecoming'

YamKumi was a bit tentative as she tapped the Boss on the shoulder. Ojou was very upset whenever she had to deliver potentially bad news especially to Kei O'Halloran!

"Boss? Excuse me ma'am but Captain Zach said he'd be over to visit a little later tonight." she ventured timidly. Kei came to a screeching halt and grabbed Ojou's arm.

"Oro (What) the Sam Hell did you just say, YamKumi?" yelled the redhead who was shaking the Yakuzza heiress back and forth.

"Zach said he's coming over to see you tonight around one I mean 0100 hours, Boss." said Ojou.

"Dammit! Oro (What) the FXXX does he want I wonder? He bringing 'Greenie' with him? You know Saiya St John? His yeoman?" asked Kei.

"Yeah. Why?" asked YamKumi suspiciously.

"He wants to make a trade, kid. Our own lil Suba(Subaltern) Marina Oki used to be his exec. Now he's got this Eloisian girl- an Ensign. He wants to swap yeomen with me I'll bet. Saiya for Marina. That's gotta be it." growled the redhead. Kome's aizu (eyes) went wide.

"You gonna just let her go, Boss? She's been a damned good yeoman for us ya know!" said the strawberry blonde teen. Kei shrugged.

"It's up to her. If she wants to go I won't stand in her way. (Kei grinned) Wonder if Saiya knows the score though? Diplomacy ain't one of Zachie's strong suits." she chuckled merrily.

"Look who's talking about diplomacy." said YamKumi to Kome a little too loudly.

"You say something Ojou?" asked Kei.

"Me? No, I just asked Kome if she's ever met Mr Zero before is all." replied the heiress hurriedly.

"Dunno. I think she did, kid. I don't think you've ever had the pleasure or your doggie there." said Kei nonchalantly. The 'doggie' was Ojou's and as usual he was wearing his red/white tracksuit. Fuji was a pug-nosed bulldog and quite a fighter to boot. Devoted to Kumiko Ooedo his mistress who was heiress apparent to one of the most powerful Yakuzza Clans in ancient Terran Japan he waddled dutifully beside YamKumi wherever the 'ojou' or princess was wont to go. Suddenly Kome recalled something.

"Hey Yammie! Wasn't that back around the time you had to go back home (Shimougou) and visit with your ancestours or something? So you never did meet Zachie boy." said the strawberry blonde teen.

"Yeah only it was her descendants Kome. Don't worry. You'll meet him tonight, kid." said Kei and she spun on her heel and headed for her quarters.

"Hurry up Boss. Your boyfriend'll be her real soon." chortled Kome. Kei gave her an icy glare but said nothing. Meanwhile aboard the 'Liberator' several storm clouds were brewing.

"But sir! I really like working here on the 'Lib' as your yeoman. I just don't understand, Captain. Has my work not been satisfactory? Have I displeased you in some way, sir? Why don't you want me anymore?" sobbed Saiya St John.

"It ain' that Honey. It's just that I've got a chance to get Marina back. Only Reds won't give her up without a fight- unless she gets something in exchange for her. That's where you come in, my dear Saiya. Believe me Saiya. If there was any other possible way that--" soothed Zach Zero. Suddenly the Eloisian girl's tears were replaced by flashing angry golden orbs.

"So I'm the 'Kewpie doll'? The damned 'booby prize'? You'd rather have Oki back that much that you'd trade me for her? Fine! I am sick and tired of this scrap heap junkyard of yours anyhow! I quit!!" yelled the green-haired Eloisian and she stormed off the bridge. The tears were back now- with a vengeance.

Zach grabbed the arm of a passing space tech engineer.

"Gina! Tell Saiya that I want her in dress blacks and ready to leave by 0030 hours (half an hour past midnight) and tell her I will not accept her resignation, not yet anyway. Dress blacks for you as well. I'm taking both of you to the 'Angel 2' with me later tonight and that's an order, Ensign. Understood?" ordered Zero. Gina shook off his hand.

"Aye sir." replied Ensign First Class Regina Langley Phillips. Gina was a graduate of 'Earth 2 Academy' where she had finished third in her class of 16,000 cadets. She'd been mentored and trained by a feisty blonde bombshell (Ah ah- that would be telling) who had been a famous 'Blues' fighter on Terra. Gina was a fully qualified space tech and worked as an assistant engineer aboard the 'Liberator'. Phila was also a fully licensed pilot, navigator, gunner, comm relay operator, scanner, demolitions expert and medic. Had Saiya not already been Zero's yeoman she was fully trained and qualified in that capacity too.

Gina was shorter than most of the female staff aboard being a mere 5'5" in height but she had a trim lithe figure and was a crack shot with a laser gun as well as with any other weapon you might care to name. A black belt in both karate and jeet-kun-do she was very accomplished in the forbidden arts known as hakuto shin ken or killing with a touch. Gina could hit you with an autohypo like lightning and got along very well with most of her shipmates and superiors.

Gina shared a suite with Saiya fulltime and temporarily with most of the female cosmic leaders and their staffs. This number included Mrs Leia Skywalker Organa Solo. When Gina got to her quarters Saiya was being consoled by Leia, 'Dragon Lady' Janeway and half a dozen other female cosmic leaders and junior officers. 'Greenie' had been bawling nonstop ever since she had rushed in and begun packing up her duffle bags with her belongings. Gina felt lousy right down to the pit of her guts but she had been given a direct order by a superior officer dammit! She squared her shoulders, knocked loudly and walked into Saiya's small bedroom.

"The Captain chooses not to accept your resignation at this time, Saiya. Furthermore you and I have both been ordered to accompany him later this evening when he visits Marshall O'Halloran aboard the 'Angel 2' therefore we must report to the 'Freelander' by 0030 hours in our dress blacks. (Gina glanced at her wristchromo) It's almost 2340 hours (11:40 PM) so we've less than an hour. Stop blubbering and get changed, Saiya. I'll meet you in the living room in a half hour. Understand?" said Gina.

"Uh huh." sniffled the Eloisian girl and Gina strode next door to the room she was sharing with Julia Jean Servalan, the Supreme Commander of the 'Ligurian Federation'. She slammed the door behind her and Julia Servalan looked up from her holovid novel. She was an ash blonde whose hair was almost silvery white. Despite this she looked little older than Gina although truth be told she was more than three score and ten. As usual Servie was wearing a daring shortie kimono of blazing crimson over a pair of sheer pink pajamas.

"You're going to bed already, Servie? It's not even midnight." said Gina, kicking off her boots and unzipping her flight suit. She stepped out of the coveralls and yanked on her dress black shirt. At six and a half feet Servie towered over her roommie.

"Man trouble, Phil?" she asked sympathetically.

"Yeah! And his name's Zacharias Taylor Zero dammit!" sulked the angry young Ensign. She cinched her tie so savagely her throat turned red. Servie adjusted her tie and sat down on the bunk.

"Zachie wants his old flame bac aboard but she's a Sub(Subaltern) in the 3WA. However, Lover Boy thinks she really wants to come back home even thoguh it'll mean dropping back two ranks to do it. She's travelling aboard the 'Angel 2' and he plans on asking her to come back tonight. Now he figures the Marshall won't just hand her over to him so he's bringing her a peace offering inexchange- 'Greenie'! I guess I'm to be the guardian chaperone or something. Problem is he never considered 'Greenie's feelings for a moment. Hell he never even asked her first! Nope! He just up and told her about the swap and that was that! I though sure slavery was abolished way back in 2011 at those 'Thrushyn-Tyling' conferences? Zach Zero is a callous cruel heartless Chauvinist pig!" ylled Gina while Servie helped her into her black blazer. Gina zipped it up tight and allowed Servalan to buckle on her weapons sash and adjust the strap.

"It's just not fair, Servie!" cried Gina while she was pulling on her highly polished jackboots. She leaped to her feet and faced Servalan- head to chin.

"Well how about it? Do I pass muster, Servie?" grinned Gina.

"Sure. After you put your pants on that is." giggled the taller woman. Gina smiled and climbed into her dress black trousers. She tugged on her gauntlets, squared her saucer cap atop her orange locks and slung her dark greatcoat around her slim shoulders. Gina looked like a pretty fair imitation of an ancient Terran 'SS' officer. She bid adieu to Servie and left.

"You be back home before morning, young lady." chortled Servie.

"Yes, Mother. I will." called Gina. Servalan sighed and keyed up the holovid novel she'd been reading.

"C'mon 'Greenie' or we're gonna be late dammit!" yelled Gina who was pounding out a brisk tattoo on Saiya's door. Her roommie's icy green hair contrasted horribly with the severe black uniform. 'Greenie' had washed her face but her aizu (eyes) were still red from crying. Since her orbs were golden in colour the effect was like pink-eye!

"Don't forget your purse, Honey." said Leia and she placed the bag's shoulder strap over Saiya's head and then underneath her arm. Sheila Reese was Rafe Donnelly's yeoman and she was a striking brunette in her well formed pink chemise slip.

"Don't leave home without these babies or you'll get the riot act read to you by you know who." she said and slid a Mark VIII laser pistol into each girl's side holster.

"Where's your bag, Phil?" asked Saiya.

"Never carried one, Saiya. Put this on." replied Gina and she wrapped Saiya in a white ankle length cloak.

"My goodness! Even our 'Starfleet' dress greys aren't that damned sombre!" observed the 'Dragon Lady' who was playing chess with Queen Esther of 'Lycanthos'. Esther was winning.

"Tell me about it, mum." replied Gina and she waved goodbye while she steered Saiya out the door, down the hall and into the lift. They got to the 'Freelander' with just moments to spare.

Zach Zero apologized profusely almost all the way over to the Marshall's ship. Kei had chosen to receive her guests in one of the small conference rooms on Level Five. In fact it was the same one where InuYasha's gang had bunked that first night aboard so long ago.

While Zach, Gina and Saiya looked like they had just stepped out of a bandbox Kei, Yuri, Kome and YamKumi looked like they had just crawled out from underneath one!

After the introductions had been completed a solitary figure arose from the shadows and stepped forward into the light.

If you're a Boss fan (Bruce Springsteen not our Boss Kei O'Halloran that is) you might like to know he has a younger sister Pamela an actress. Currently she is starring as a female Jason Voorhees (Angela Baker in her case) in two Friday the 13th spoof films- Sleepaway Camp II and III. There was an original SC but she ain't in it. There were also SC IV and V and VI comes next year. It's called Reunion so Pam may be in it. Dunno about IV or V. She may be in them as well. What's the opposite of a Rave Master? Right- a Shadow Master! One just showed up in Symphonia after the Haru gang got there. There are 5 Rave Stones and 5 Shadow Stones and whoever has all of 'em can rule the world. Think Haru's gonna let that happen? In the SM's dreams he will! New crewman is Ruby who is rich and has been backing Doryu's evil schemes w/o knowing it. SM guy recognized Elie (as Rescha Valentine?) and smooched her. This guy has just wiped out two armies and now the Orka 6 are back! And who are these 4 generals of the four cardinal directions? A lot to wrap up in just a few more eppies eh?

Good news from SYFY folks! AniMonday has been expanded from 9 PM ET to 1 AM ET with the first two hours called Chiller. Chiller will feature unusual and scary anime film masterpieces beginning with Blood:The Last Vampire which spawned the Blood+ saga and a brand new live action film now running in theatres. Looks like 24 August will be Chiller's debut. If you get SYFY in the SE PA-USA area you are still getting Star Trek-TNG reruns from 9 to 11 ET on Mondays dammit!

Hey WitchBlade the film (with Sarah Pezzini not Masane Amaha- yech!) will hit theatres in a year or so while DragonBall and Death Note are already out there showing. Many more anime based flicks are coming soon and they are filming Bebop with Keanu Reeves in Dave's role as Spike Steigel. For Jett I'd pick LF- Larry Fishburne or even MF- Morgan Freeman. Denzel Washington or Samuel L Jackson don't fit the mold. How about Miley Cyrus aka Hannah Montana as 'Ed' and Lindsay Lohan as Faye Valentine? (Rafe) Donnelly could be Tommie Lee Jones. Hey I oughta be a Hollywood cast finder eh? Gad, I wonder how much of a muckup they'll make of the 'Bebop', 'Swordfish II', 'Redtail' and 'Hammerhead'? I don't think Ed's power scooter had a name although we all know the computer she wore on her head with 'goggle monitors' was named 'Tomato'!

Sad to see Naruto eliminated in favour of Ben 10 Alien Force which dominates Saturday evenings on CN. It follows Total Drama Island and 6Teen which is about teens in a shopping mall. Now Ben 10 has been replaced with reality TV shows and Total Drama Island the animated Survivour series.
All of this mish mash has now been changed! All for the worse with crappy reality TV shows!

Before I forget we just watched Mallrats which is a Jay & Silent Bob teen comedy filmed in a New Jersey shopping mall. Jason Lee (Dave Seville in Chipmunks flick) played a comic fanatic and the special guest star was Stan Lee himself. If you saw Fantastic 4- Rise of the Silver Surfer you may have caught a cameo of him as one of the wedding guests at the Reed Richards/Sue Storm nuptials. In Mallrats he was an integral character. Stan was signing comics at the mall and helped out Jason with a few problems. Don't miss this flick or Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back when the goofs come to Hollywood. Cameos by Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker) and Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia). He's a supervillain (natch- he voices 'em everywhere) and she's a nun (go figure eh?)

Anyhow Showtime is where we saw 'em- Showtime at COD.

A couple of Code Geass crossovers in this week's eppys. Two of the new 'Nightmares' (like Gundams) have unusual names: 'Guren' (as in 'Guren Lagann' the BGR anime series above) and 'Zangetsu' (as in the name of Ichigo Kurosaki's 'zampatou' sword in 'Bleach'. His has the voice of Richard Epcar who also voices the last of the Bounts- Kouga)

In both Code Geas and in FMA some of the characters have a special logo in their eye a la Code Lyoko's XANA logo in the evil characters' eyes.

In both Death Note and Bleach there are specific hints as to character origins. In DN Ryuuk tells Light Yagami that any user of the DN book can neither go to Heaven nor Hell after death. So what's left? Shinigami World meaning that DN book users after death become Shinigami death gods- right?

In Bleach Rukia's Squad 13 captain (the one that is always sick as a rule) tells a subordinate that Ichigo's friends are special with unusually high spiritual pressures. He goes on to say that he would not be at all surprised if after death they became soul reapers themselves after they had passed on to the Soul Society. Renji Abari committed a minor faux pas in this week's eppy. While fighting one of the Arrancar Hollows he told him that by the time Kiske arrived the Arrancar himself would be dead. He apparently forgot that all Hollows are already dead to begin with. For that matter are soul reapers really alive or dead?

Ichigo, Urryuu and Chad have just met three Arrancars and their pet in the Wako Mundo desert on their way to Las Noches (The Nights) which is Aizen's HQ fortress. Seems not all Arrancars and Hollows are bad because these guys gave 'em a lift and are guiding them to LN. Live and learn guys. Why are they in WM? Aizen has Orihime of course!

Discovered why Moribito theme music is so familiar. Group is Arc 'n ciel who did the GTO theme Driver's Edge. Early OT and ET for Death Note are done by Nightmare group which is what the Black Knights and Brittanians' Gundamlike fighting suits are called.

In FMA Ed has learned truth behind the Ishbaal massacre of fifteen years ago while brother Al has just discovered the identity of the Homunculi leader from the snake chimera Marta seconds before she was murdered by the #7 Homunculus- the Fuehrer King Bradley himself. He is Pride- the seventh deadly sin! But- who is his boss? Rose of Lior has become pals with Lira the girl alchemist who used to be with Yochi the state alchemist army lieutenant and she's now called the Holy Mother but she has gone mute and who's her baby's father? The climax seems to be fast approaching and it promises to be exciting so don't miss it gang! Hohenheim the Elrics dad is back and going after Dante. Al has become a deadly time bomb courtesy of an unknowing Scar and an evil Kimlee the Crimson Alchemist who used the red stones in Ed's SAA watch to transmute the souls in Scar's arm into a philosopher's stone!

Another Bleach note- why did Aizen want Orihime kidnapped? What or who is the sojioque he has stolen which will awaken in the winter? Who is the lad newly born from its power? What does Kiske know which he ain't telling? Can Ichigo defeat his Espada nemesis? Don't ya just love that jutsu used by Captain Toshiro Hitagawa- reign over the frosted heavens! then the name of his zambatou? A version of it is used by the evil Dragon Emporer in Mummy 3 when Jet Li turns a field of snow into jagged ice stalagmites. Of course he has mastery over the five Chinese elements- fire, water, earth, wood and metal! If there are only five elements in Chinese philosophy then how can there be an avatar or guardian of the air- Avatar the Last Airbender? Air is not one of those elements! And who's the looney tunes Espada poor Rangiku is stuck with?

Just saw an unusual style of skillfully blended live action with animation film called Immortal. About an Egyptian creation god (Horus) who must procreate in seven days or lose his immortality forever so he comes to AD 2095 NYC and mates with a BetaZoid/Vulcan type alien (Charlotte Rampling is a doctor in this one gang).

Getting into DLs and ULs and burning CDs again. Trying to get into attaching videos to messages like I do pix now but it's damned tricky folks!

Happy birthday to Tom Kenney who voices one of the autobots in the new Transformers flick. He's the narrator for the StarWars/CloneWars animated series on AS too.

I am now reading Umberto Eco's classic novel Foucault's Pendulum which is all about the Knights Templar and the Grand Plan and the Philosopher's Stone and other heavy stuff like that. It's a great book and might make a great film if Hollywood ever wises up. It's a bit of a wordy read and calls for an understanding of world history and a smattering of mythology and stuff but it is well worth it. Eco wrote that marvelous book Name of the Rose which became a film starring Sean '007' Connery as a monk detective. Latest book I've read is Nathaniel Hawthorne's Tanglewood Tales which is a different retelling of Greek mythology. He even calls Mercury (Hermes) the gods' messenger Quicksilver. That was also the name of one of the X-Men villains and was voiced by Richard Ian Cox. Any suggestions for my next reading quest? I like puzzles, quests, treasure hunts and the like. I have had my fill of mysteries though. Mama is reading The Magic Labyrinthe which I have covered in the blogs and messages. In September I will be getting The Lost Symbol- Dan Brown's newest novel. Not much info on that book yet though.

Am currently reading a Farmer novel- Other Log of Phileas Fogg and it's like something outta Dr Who! There's a 'distorter' which works like a beam transporter only forget about sneaky moves with it! When it activates it bongs loudly many times at both ends! Seems Terra has two ancient alien races- Capellians and Eridaeneans- who live about a millenia each unless they get killed. They wage a constant war on each other to remake Terra into Utopia (Eridaeneans) or ruin it and rule it (Capellians). Fogg and Passepartout and Ayouda are Eris but Fix and Nemo are Caps. Somehow or other Fogg's trip around the globe is no mere bet but a race to save Earth! Anyone who has read it and/or the Riverworld sagas may comment if they wish.

Finished OLOPF and started Lin Carter's epic Thongor vs the Gods which is where Zandar Zan originated. Told ya I didn't make him up just for Wings, didn't I? Thongor's like Conan the Barbarian ably played by Gov Arnie! Finished Thongor and The Cipher which is what Arabesque is from. The film had Gregory Peck and Sophia Loren in it. Now I'm reading Nick Meyers' pastiche on Sherlock Holmes- the Hellbirds which is about the early part of WWI (Dec 1914) and involves the German spy Von Bork (His Last Bow by Doyle made into film Voice of Terror) and a local East Anglican legend. You should hear what Mycroft considers 'modern technology'!

I have just added three plums to my anime vids collection: Complete DVD sets of Noir, Gasaraki and Tactics. I already have the complete set of Black Lagoon on DVD and partials on Blood+, Cyborg 009, FMA, Bleach and a few others. I have the first 7 eppys of Morabito and am on the lookout for the set. Bobby has the complete set of Trigun and Mama has the complete set of Gunslinger Girl and Witchblade. Anyone else have any new acquisitions to talk about? If so blog it here or post some messages folks.

Now have Bebop movie on DVD and VHS. Just got GS Innocence 2 and Haunting in Connecticutt. Thundercats came at last for Mama. Still have yet to watch DB Evolution film.

Bobby's fave on the History Channel 'Ice Road Truckers' returns next season (currently on COD/Science&Nature/HistoryChannel/IceRoadTruckers) and 27 September Mama's fave Dexter returns to Sundays on Showtime. This weekend Michael C Hall who portrays Dexter will star in Gamer with Gerard Butler and Ludacris in theatres. Ludacris was in Max Payne while Butler is the Phantom of the Opera. This is Hall's firt anything since Dexter. When will my Angels ever return- who knows? Maybe I'll watch them tonight- nai Nora Roberts' Blue Smoke is on OnDemand. It's the female version of Ron Howard's Backdraft albeit it is set in Baltimore MD rather than Pittsburgh PA. It's all about a gal who becomes an arson investigator and features Scott Bakula (Cpt Jonathan Archer of the Enerprise) in Bobby DeNiro's Backdraft role as senior arson squad leader and Caterina's boss. Reena is Alice Witt reprising the Backdraft role played by Alec Baldwin if I remember aright.

By the way Discover Channel (Ch 64 on Comcast) has dropped (at least for now) Josh Bernstein's Into the Unknown series from their lineup. Josh was on a morning TV talk show this past Wednesday and he may be returning to the History Channel soon. A shame to lose his show since good archaeological shows are few and far between these days. I grew up with Bold Venture and Marlin Perkins' Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom as well as the Wonderful World of Walt Disney. Today's Disney crap would make Walt upchuck! Imagine showing stuff unsuitable for the entire family on network TV in prime time!

SYFY is airing Destination Truth which is like JBs old Digging for the Truth on HC. DT is hosted by Josh Bates or Gates and looks pretty good. Anyone know why SYFY considers wrestling science fiction stuff?

This just in folks! Josh Bernstein has revamped his website and is now using Twitter too. He has a fab group called JBs Group at YG. Dan Brown is on both Twitter and FaceBook now. What do you guys think about my starting an anime recipes file and a golf tips corner either here or at AH1 or somewhere else? Animeinfor.org is the only place I have ever seen an anime recipes section. As for golf tips- what can I say? I love golf- passionately even if I don't play as much as I used to. Gomen but I just remem,bered this. Kudos to Robert the artist for hire for finding Dan Doh- probably the only anime series about golf itself! Sadly there are no dubs of it just subs. It can be found at VEOH and hulu quite easily. I'll post a pix or two soon.

Another great show was In Search Of narrated by Leonard 'Mr Spock' Nimoy and I recall an eppy of theirs re the Knights Templar and Foucault's Pendulum. Just saw Kurosawa's masterpiece 7 Samurai and started reading Angels & Demons after I finished Bored With the Rings (a LOR satire) and Fritz Lieber's Knight & Knave of Swords which was about the two unlikely Norse heroes Fafhrd and the Grey Mouser- think of Arnie Schwarzenegger teamed up with Bruce Willis! Dororo just ran on COD/FreeMovies. It was based on a manga about a warrior cursed as a demon trying to get human again and the gal warrior who aids him. Several more Japanese and Korean subbed films under FM like Triad Elections. Saw Sho Kosugi in Pray for Death which was about a modern day Ninja going on a bloody quest for vengeance in NYC! Cool!

Just finished reading Philip Jose Farmer's climactic ending novel to his Riverworld series- The Magic Labyrinthe and boy is it cool! Doesn't make too much sense if you haven't read the other Riverworld books though. SciFi showed a made for TV Riverworld movie some time ago but it didn't do the books justice at all. The three key characters are all from history: Sam (Mark Twain) Clemens, King (f. Prince) John of Robin Hood lore and Sir Richard Burton the great explorer who searched for the Nile's source (not to be confused with the actor of the same name). Wikipedia has a pretty decent synopses of Farmer's Riverworld sagas if anyone is interested.

Looks like COD has some good movie fare this month. Here are just a few:

Angel Unchained; Army of Darkness; Evil Dead 2; Haunted; Haunting of Julia; Candyman (Don't miss Tony Todd in the new Transformers flick); Dracula (Gary Oldman); Mindwarp (w/ Angus 'Phantasm' Scrimm); Waxworks and Waxworks 2; Wishmaster and Wishmaster 3 and 4; Buffy the Vampire Slayer; X Files and X Men; Devour and Fly Me to the Moon (Houseflies on Apollo rocket). Go ahead. Give 'em a whirl. Gotta go now.

Almost forgot Planet of the Apes and Beneath the Planet of the Apes- both classics!

Has anyone seen G Force yet? How about Haunting in Connecticut? Someone has suggested at FaceBook that our anime is dead. Boy did that ever open a potboiler of contention! If anime is dead well nobody told Hollywood! DragonBall, Watchmen, GI Joe, Blood:TLV, Transformers2, the list seems endless eh?

I have now posted up to and including Ch 57 of Wings. I am trying to get Xmas and Wings rewritten and published. Think they will sell? A note to budding authors- Avoid 'author mills' like AuthorAmerica and AuthorHouse. All they want is for you to pay them to publish YOUR works! They guarantee nothing! Likewise avoid AbsoluteWriters Water Cooler for info and inspiration. They are quite negative and attempt to discourage a struggling author!

Everyone raved over this faux (mock) interview betwixt Kei and her bossman Anton Wilhelm Gustav, her Sector 9 unit chief in the 3WA (World Welfare Works Assn) the peacekeeping arm of the 'UG' (United Galactica Federation of Galaxies) so here it is for all of you lucky readers to enjoy. Gomen er sorry but I still haven't gotten the hang for posting pix here yet. Lovely Angel Kei's Interview (at last!)




KEI INTERVIEW






Premise: Kei and I are here today at the 3WA training base station and I thought it would make a great opportunity to use our break period to let all you folks out there find out something about what my Lovely Angel, Kei, has been up to of late. We will also update you on our lives ever since we first met each other all those years ago.






Mugghi and Nammo are here with us while we all test out some new weapons recently installed on the Lovely Angel. So for purposes of this interview I am the Keiman(KM) while she is Kei. Wherever I make reference to another character and/or series it will be so noted in brackets as well as all tones of voice and/or actions. Here we go:-






KM: Good afternoon, Kei.






Kei: Hi Bossman, what's up?






KM: What have you been up to lately?






Kei:(Confused) Er, you already know that, sir.






KM:Yes, Kei-I know but your fans don't.






Kei:Oh OK-gotcha! I'm cool but sometimes I miss the vacuumhead!






KM:Er, Kei, do you mean Yuri?






Kei: Of course, who else?






KM: OK, just try to be nice today, please?






Kei: Alright, I'll be good (Giggles)






KM:Now what have you been doing lately?






Kei: Well, we've been here testing new weapons. They just installed a supercool sonic disruptor beam cannon on the ship and I can't wait to play with it! Yesterday, I remodified my power blaster and now I can hit the bull (target) from 187 meters with pinpoint accuracy! Oh, sorry you meant besides work, didn't you sir? Well, last night we all went to the Shangri-La Casino (see Original Dirty Pair-Episode 5) and I won 80 thousand credits playing meteor! They have really fixed that place up nice since the last time we were there. And we ran into Faye(Cowboy Bebop) and Vash(Trigun) too.






KM: I know all about that. I had one devil of a time talking you and Faye out of turning in Vash for the 60 billion double dollars reward!






Kei: Well, technically he is a criminal, ain't he?






KM: Yes but not in our jurisdiction; anyway he's a good guy after all. Incidentally, you and Yuri never even tried to recapture Caldy (see DP Flash-Mission 2/Act 3) after that hot springs tour fiasco on World's World did you? And he was a wanted felon on our turf! Why he even conned you a couple of times, didn't he?






Kei:(Angrily) You promised NEVER to bring that issue up again!






KM:OK! Have you heard from Yuri recently? Even though you both still work for the 3WA (Yuri is still in Poporo's section) you now work for Gustav in Unit 9 so you don't see each other there too often, do you?






Kei: No, sir we don't but we do keep in touch via email and vidphone pretty regularly. She vidded me last night. Of course, she can't stand her new partner Kumi (on loan to us from the ATC where she protects Momiji's Blue Seed from the Aragami). She says Kumi's motto is "If you got ammo, keep shooting!" Anyway WE get all the tough missions and that purple-headed punching bag (see DPF-Mission 2/Act 2) gets all the easy ones!






KM: Now, Kei, that is not avery nice thing to say, is it? And after you promised to be good.






Kei:(Sulkily) OK Sorry. Maybe Yuri doesn't get all the easy jobs but it sure as Hell seems like it! And she got to keep little Mugghi too!






KM: But you and Marlene(Marlene Angel is Kei's new partner-on loan from Earth II where she protects Earth from the Blue Gender Blues monsters) got big Mugghi and Nammo (their robot is Nammo and Mugghi is a genetically engineered android not unlike a huge kitty cat), didn't you? And each of your teams got a new Lovely Angel starship to use. Could we be fairer than that? (Perhaps I should explain that the Central Computer goofed again. It assigned two Lovely Angels team codenames: Yuri/Kumi are Lovely Angels 1 while Kei/Marlene are Lovely Angels 2. Kei's team is now part of Unit 9 and their chief is Gustav. Yuri/Kumi is still part of the old department section and their chief is Poporo). And Yuri told me that Kumi causes more destruction than you usually do.






Kei:(Shocked) Trouble, me? I don't know what you mean, sir.






KM: Yes you do, Miss Kei! Oh well I guess the cat's out of the bag now folks so I'll tell you. I, the Keiman, am really Kei's new section chief at Unit 9-Gustav (My cousin is Chief Gazelle of Galaxy Cup Volleyball Tourney fame-see DPF-Mission 3/Act 3 for details).






Kei: Sorry, sir! I guess I gave you away, didn't I? (Giggles hysterically)






KM:OK now where were we? Oh, yeah, how is Yuri really doing? You know what I mean; I believe she vidded you last evening?






Kei:(Ecstatic) Oh wow I almost forgot! She just ran into this real cool guy in Florida (his name is Wilbury I think) on the beach. She's there modeling or some such crap. And she is truly GONE over him man! He must be a hunk to turn Yuri on full blast like that; she couldn't shut up about how great he was through the whole call! She really seems to like him a lot and who knows? Remember how she almost got hitched to Kyarine (see ODP-Episode 6 for details) on that island a few years back? Yeah, I know I probably blew it for them by crashing the wedding as a nun but I was trying to complete a mission at the time, wasn't I?






KM: Did you have to destroy the whole damned church? Chief Gooley's stomach was doing somersaults for weeks after that!






Kei: Sorry, oh, Yuri has also been singing at some of those Karaoke clubs over there too. She really does have a great voice you know.






KM: I know. Er, your voice isn't half bad either, Kei.






Kei:(Blushing) Oh, you're just saying that Chief.






KM: No really. I've heard you do that Non-stop Angel number ("In Love With Thrills") and you're good! When you, er, absented yourself from the 3WA on that hiatus, wasn't one of your jobs singing in a club?






Kei: First I quit the 3WA whether Garner accepted my resignation or not! Yuri thought I quit too, which was why the little son-- er I mean the true blue trocon decided to follow me to Waldess's cruiseship and arrest me for carrying an illegal weapon (see DPF-Mission 1/Acts 1 to 6 for details). I wonder if she ever discovered who was backing her up when she was inside Kapp's head; of course Garner got me to do it for her. But that's all water under the brifdge now. Anywho, I hope this Wilbury guy works out for the kid, I really do! I'm two months older than Yuri you know. Oh yeah and to get back to your previous (is that right?) question sir-we did get big Mugghi and Nammo and Yuri does love that furball Mugghi a lot. By the way, Chief, would you believe that on World's World (see DPF-Mission 2/Act 1) that idiot couldn't tell the difference between a real cat and an android one with a bomb in it! If I hadn't have grabbed that thing outta her arms she'd've been toast!






KM: Er, incidentally, all during that Siren (see DPF-Mission 1/Acts 1 to 6) incident you two were never once referred to by that name, were you? And since then everyone seems to call both teams the Dirty-






Kei:(Mad as Hell) Don't say it!






KM:OK they probably all know it by now anyway (I am referring to the "Dirty Pair" moniker of course.) Put that blaster away, young lady, right now!). By the way, there is something that I have always been curious about.






Kei:(Snickering) What's that sir?






KM:When you were sent to Eden (see "Project EDEN" file), it seems the first thing you did was to search the mines. You came across several troughs filled with filthy, contaminated and for all you knew, radioactive waste water. Whatever possessed the two of you to decide to strip off and bathe in it?






Kei:(Giggling) Well it seemed like a good idea at the time sir.







KM: Luckily you both survived that ordeal. To return to my previous statement, when exactly and under what circumstances did you two become known by that name? I believe that may have been before I met you?






Kei: Yeah, it was long before that Chief. It was our first mission and we called it the "Brian" disaster(see Classic TV-Episode 1). "Brian" was the computer controlling all functions of the Damocles Tower in Elinore City on Shimougou and we lived there on the 35th floor in an apartment. "Brian" went on the fritz and started shutting down the building and wrecking the city so we decided to shut him down. We caused a bit of damage to the city and the tower before we got it under control. OK, the tower now lists at a 30 degree angle because there is no foundation left to hold it upright. But it wasn't my fault!






KM: How did you finally stop "Brian"?Kei:(Again laughing hysterically) We gave him an impossible problem to solve and he overloaded!






KM: Which was?






Kei:(Giggling) We asked it to decide between me and Yuri-who is the better (sexier) one?






KM: The answer of course being impossible since a computer cannot decide an answer requiring the use of emotions, right?






Kei:(Confused) If you say so sir. But he should have picked me!






KM: i'm not about to touch that one, folks.






Kei:(Sulkily) Well he shoulda picked me.






KM: I hear Keitaroo(see DPF-Mission 3/Act 1 for details) is back. Has he been over to see you yet?






Kei:(Puzzled) Oh, my godkid! You bet he has. Er you know he has a crush on Derringer Merrill Strife (Trigun) don't you? Vash told me at Shangri-La last night after you left us. OK so I stayed and lost my 80 thou at meteor! Why do you think that Faye and me tried to grab Vash for the 60 billion?






KM: We'll let that pass for now. How is Keitaroo doing? He's gotta be on Easy Street with that fortune of his dad's (the Senator) he inherited last year.






Kei: Oh, you didn't know? He donated that to help rebuild July and August (the two cities that Vash atomized on Gunsmoke). I told you he had a thing for Merrill, didn't I? But he has just enrolled at the Academy and we may get him here with us at Unit 9 real soon!






KM: Oh no! Another one! Well, I see that they are calling us back to the ship to put that new sonic disruptor beam cannon through its paces again. So let me take this time we have left to humbly apologize to Yuri for calling her "brainless" all those times during "Siren" and for letting you know where Waldess went after you quit the force. Gazelle also asked me to say sorry for calling her "pathetic" and for that ordeal he put you two through when he trained you here for that volleyball tourney. Did he really flood your room and make you stand in oil to play and train you in a sauna?






Kei:(Laughing) The worst was when he tried to appeal to us to stay by telling us about those "50 brave agents who made the ultimate sacrifice" trying to arrest Mr. President. But we got back at him later in the hospital. Er, did his hair ever grow back sir?






KM: Yes eventually it did. As a final thought, how about reminding everyone what your motto is?






Kei:(Solemnly) Never blow up tomorrow what you can blow up today! Yo, Chief! Are they calling us again? ooh, that announcer just said the same thing Yuri did at the prison (see ODP-Episode 1) when she used her laserlight ring to blow open that vault door (after I ran outta ammo) to get the warden out. They were like "Son of-"






KM: Yes I recall them "SOB-What the Hell!" to which you replied "That didn't suck!" It was one of the very few times Yuri used profanity- unlike you!






Kei:(Shocked) Who me? I'm sure I don't know what you mean sir.






KM: Yes you do. Whoa! They were calling us and there's our final warning. That's the big cheese- Territorial Chief Garner. (Speaking into Comlink) We're coming sir.






Kei:(Giggling) We'd better get going sir!






KM: (Laughing) Any final thoughts for your loyal fans, Kei?






Kei:(Mock Serious) To paraphrase Red Green "Always keep your blaster on its bull" (Coyly, to KM) "Thanks for letting me blow off some steam, Honey."






KM:(Angrily) Honey! I am your section chief, TroCon Kei! And don't you forget it!






Kei:(Apologetic) I'm very sorry sir.






KM:(Looking worried) Kei, you did tell Mugghi to clean the cannon first before he loaded it, didn't you?






Kei:(Perplexed) Huh? Er, no sir, I thought you did.






KM:(Mad as Hell) You idiot! If he tries to fire that thing now---






Kei:(Running full tilt down the corridor) I'm already on it Chief! (Speaking through comlink earring) Hey, Mugghi, don't touch those gun controls until I get there!






KM:(Fuming) Another fine mess she's gotten us into!






Kei:(Fading voice) Mugghi! Nammo! Wait'll I get my hands on you! I'll-






KM:(Back to Normal) Sorry about that outburst but sometimes Kei just ticks me off so much. In closing, folks, let me just say that it has been an honor and a privilege to have known both Yuri and Kei. I am especially proud to have Kei on my staff at Unit 9 (Eat your heart out Poporo!). The girls did save him and his kid Rosa from that madman Berringer (see DPF-Mission 3/Act 5). I wonder if the three of them ever finished writing all those "Sorry we blew up half of Elinore City again" letters finally? I must remember to ask Kei. What am I saying? I still have a headache from last night when I got drunk and told her Faye was cuter than she was!






Kei:(Calling from vidphone) Chief, Garner and Gazelle are waiting for us and they are both as mad as Hell! You better get your butt over here now! Pronto!






KM:(Speaking on comlink)Coming Kei. (Aside) Believe it or not I AM her superior although sometimes it may seem otherwise.(Dawning realization) Oh no, if she fires that gun it's sayonara time for this complex!(Running off toward ship at full tilt) Well, that's all folks. Goodbye from us both and keep sending us (especially Kei) those fan letters and emails, too. Kei!!!--






Kei:(Reassuring) Relax Chief. It's OK. I've got everything under control again. (Sound of BOOM!! and Kei crying) Sorry sir! But it's not my fault really!






AFTERMATH: As I said before I am honored and proud to have my fave animegal on my team at Unit 9. Of course I do get to see her almost every day.






DISCLAIMER: You folks know all of this is false (made up) don't you? I tried to use Kei's point of view in both asking and answering these questions for this interview. I would REALLY like to be Kei's bossman but how could that ever be? I am an actual 54 (now 59 as of 7/8/2008) year old guy and she is just my absolute fave animebabe! But I will never find a more beautiful (and dangerous) animegal than you, my lovely angel, Kei!






APOLOGY: I must ask Mr. Wilbury (Lovely Yuri Website) to forgive my "poetic license" for Kei's answers about his Yuri's lifestyle. I did not mean to offend him in any way whatsoever and if I have upset him or anyone in any way I most humbly apologize. Gomen! Such was never my intention at all.






GRATITUDE: I want to thank each and every one who has assisted me over these past few months (years now) since I rediscovered anime in a big way. Last but not least again I am indebted to highteckdudu for this pix of Neko who or is it whom I made not only into a shapeshifting nekomata trill (she can turn into a cat like Yoruichi does on Bleach) but also into Jon Harlock's navigator and third in command behind his exec on the 'Botany Bay 2' (Khan stole the first BB ship) and she's a gun freak like Kei O'Halloran and her 2140 counterpart Keisie. Keisie is the one that blew the rift in the universe in AD 2140 thus plunging things into utter chaos which her AD2249-2253 counterpart KO had to fix in Xmas w/ the DP (my first ff) and now she's back in the same role in Angel Wings where she is partnered with Revy Roberts from 'Black Lagoon' and Roanapur in SE Asia on Terra.









OK- here's oro Revy looks like along with her Terran cohorts. However, Rock Obajime (computer whiz a la Tomah Jordan of the 3WA) is the only one who accompanied her to the Academy on Shimougou. Here she is with from left to right Benny, Rock, Revy is the nasty looking auburn-maned beauthy with folded arms and on the right that's their 'fearless leader' Dutch. Oro are they? They're mercs or more accurately killers for hire although they do protection work and bounty stuff from time to time.






The lynx-like neko (cat) in the pix below the group shot is Neko (the way she looks now I guess but you'd have to ask HTDD about that folks):-


As per usual at the very bottom left hand corner we have LA Kei with the Mark XIII ion cannon and LA Yuri behind her in the fur coat and she's got a Mark III miniblaster in her hot little fist! Kei considers anything smaller than a Mark XII ion cannon or a Mark XI disruptor pistol a peashooter or a toy! Her faves are the long barrelled Marks (XX, XXI, XXX, XXXI etc) which resemble rocket launchers like the 90 MM recoilless rifle and the old 3.5 rocket launcher aka a bazooka!
